Am I Being Unreasonable?
So, I have a little situation. I'm turning to my friends for their opinions so I don't make a witch of myself. Here's the scoop...on Monday afternoon (the day it snowed and snowed) before the storm I went with my mom-in-law to Kohls. Somehow, in the hecticness that is getting my kids loaded into the car, I neglected to pack up my double stroller (new, like 2 months old, paid $120 for it). I guess I assumed mom-in-law had done it...whatever. So, this morning (Friday) I realize it's totally missing. First, I assume it was stolen from my car when I went to WalMart in Kenosha on Tuesday. So, I call WalMart and get them checking security tapes; then I call the PD to just let them know (my mom worked for the PD in Provo, Ut and says things like that turn up more often than you would think). Then I call mom-in-law, and we figure it might be at Kohls. So, Friday morning, I call Kohls in Brookfield. Good news, I left it. Bad news, they gave it away! The manager let an "employee" take it home and "donate it to her church". I was astounded! He was perfectly rude as if it was insane to assume they would hold something in lost and found for at least a week. He supposedly called the "employee" to get it back; but it's gone. I'm so bugged. I called Kohls Corp. Customer Service. The DM is supposed to get back to me early next week. Girls, am I being unreasonable? I totally expect them to do something?! The manager was defensive, "it was here three days"..."there was no name on it"...the arguement being if I really missed it I would have noticed it sooner. But, duh, someone is bound to notice they are missign something that valueable. Why would you give it away after 3 days. So lame! I just want to know if you would be and what you would do. My sweet hubby thinks I should just blow it off....maybe my friends can tell me to do the same and I'll get over it and stop harrassing Kohls.

I-Pod with a Sense of Humor
So, I decided to take my I-pod that Jake gave me for Christmas to Target when I went shopping with the kids. I despise shopping with all of them, but on Wednesday night Jake went to school and we were out of several essentials (can't do without milk). I don't know why I let it get to that point to begin with...anyway, lack of planning, the story of my life.
So, again, I decide to try listening to my I-pod while shopping. I already look totally insane and negligent with three kids under three, regardless, I may as well enjoy the experience. I'm way beyond caring what other people think of me. I know what they think and I've learned to not care. (Though, that has taken some time)
I get into the store, get through the process of getting everyone is the shopping cart that Brooklyn calls a bus, and in the insanity as I start to feel the stress I flip on my I-Pod. The classic rock song "Pressure" by Billy Joel came on. Couldn't help but laugh. I listened for the remainder of my shopping trip and made the act of flipping it off very obvious at checkout so the clerk knew I could hear him. After checking out, Brooklyn and Ty were whining and crying for all of the things I didn't buy and things they wanted that I did buy...ack! So I turned on my tunes again and the classic country song in which the main chorus says "we've got a five-dollar fine for whining" came on. Ha, ha. Funny I-Pod.

Christmas

Well, blogging has taken a backseat to the holidays, obviously. These are some Christmas pictures. We have a few of decorating cookies. The kiddies loved it and I had fun using my new cookie press! Also, had to include a picture of our tree. At one point, there were decorations from top to bottom; but it didn't last long with Ty. The last pictures are Christmas Eve. For dinner, we ate a traditional Mexican holiday meal, tamales. They were fabulous. The best part, NOT COOKING! We picked them up that morning from the store, put them in the fridge, and warmed them up in the microwave. I'm all about this kind of a tradition! (Of course, the kids didn't like the tamales and ended up with chicken nuggets)

Still here...

We've had a busy couple of weeks with the holidays...as I'm sure you can all relate. Jake had some time off of work; and we weren't traveling for the holidays, so we worked on the house. We took our icky basement (I wish I had before pictures) and made a small playroom for the kids. We also repainted our dining room and put up some wanescoting (spell check on that one!). It turned out well! I love the yellow in my dining room. It's so cheery. I was a little worried that it was too much, but I love it, and I noticed today at the mall that Pottey Barn was displaying a lot of yellow/gold stuff. Maybe I'm not too off track?...

Prayer Warning
I just wanted to post something I have learned about prayer...after over ten years. You get what you pray for! Since high school, I can remember praying for the virtue of patience. Now, I am still sometimes surprised when others describe me as "patient". I continue to dread standing in a long line or waiting on the phone...I'm so impatient. However, the way that my prayer has been answered has not been what I exactly was hoping for. I was hoping "patience" would come in a pretty, wrapped, neat package. Nice and simple. Nope. First, after praying for patience, I met my future husband in high school and ended up "waiting" two years before marriage while he served a mission for the church. Then, after marrying, I endured over three years of dealing with infertility. More waiting. Now, I have three kids under three and again find my patience is being tried in another way. It's amazing, but ironic...anyway, I am SO ranting lately on my blog. I don't think anyone reads it because there are no comments...but, that's okay. It gives me somewhere to vent, right?

Tagged
My friend Cassidy had this tag on her blog. I tag everyone who reads mine!
1. Three biggest fears? Something bad happening to one of my kids, something happening to me so that I could't care for my kids, the overall embarrassment that ensues when we go out in public since nothing is happening to any of us
2. When was the last time you danced? Ten minutes ago. I'm a Jazzercise girl. It's kinda lame, but it works. I dance all the time with the kids! Love it!
3. Do you creep on stranger's blogs? Not really, I'd rather look at friends.
4. If you could go back to be any age for a day, what age would you be and why? My childhood, Brooklyn's age. I'd just like to understand more about her and where she's coming from. Honestly, I'm really happy now, where I am. I don't wish myself back to another time. Life seems to get better all of the time.
5. Are you a good liar? Sadly, yes, I can be. I'm a marketing major...I was properly trained. But when it comes to real life stuff and family and friends, no, not a good liar. (Except for the white lies that make people feel better.)
6. Do you judge someone when you can tell they've had elective cosmetic surgery? Are you kidding? Never really. I don't know how I feel about it. I probably would have never thought I would consider it, but didn't judge others. However, after seeing what having kids does to your body, who knows? Santa, baby...I've got a wish list!
7. If you have children, what's one thing that you always told yourself you'd never do when you had kids? Wipe snotty noses with my finger when no tissue was around.
8. What's something that totally grosses you out? Kids in general, love 'em, but see above question. So gross! Kids do the GROSSEST things. (ie: Tyler's poopy paci that I put in my mouth?!)
9. Do you ever delete forwards without reading them? Of course, who doesn't? Most of those are myths anyway. There is a great website that debunks all of them...don't remember the name.
10. Do you ever lie to get out of obligations? I usually try to tell the truth when I have to pull out. Usually people are understanding.
11. Consider your body weight and your yearly income at their present states. Would you rather be 200 pounds heavier and $200,000 richer or stay at your present states?
Stay at my present states.
12. When was the last time you bought a pair of shoes and what were they? Hmmm...love shoes, don't buy them much. I'm cheap. I bought some shoes for the kids at Payless a few months ago.
13. The Olympics. Take them or leave them? I LOVE the Olympics!
14. What's your favorite accent? It used to be Wisconsin, but I can't hear it anymore (scary), so now it's Austalian
15. What's your favorite scent? Babies (not stinky ones)
16. Gum or breath mints? Gum
17. If you could look like any celebrity, who would it be? I don't know, so hard to decide when you are practically perfect...ha, ha, ha...I don't know; someone who is trin and really pretty, not just make-up pretty
19. Do you religiously wear sun screen? Nope, but I'm learning to put it on my fair-skinned kiddies
20. Do you generally trust people/their motives or doubt people/their motives? It depends on the person...I trust people in general, but I am pretty sceptical about business and politics
21. Would you describe yourself as a complicated person or is what you see what you get? So complicated.
22. Do you watch what you eat? I wish I was better, usually I just watch it as it goes into my mouth
23. Do you watch what other people eat? Not really...except my kids...I guess when I'm busy with kids and eating, the last thing I care about is what someone else is eating...I have four mouths to feed
24. Do you judge how other people raise their kids? Not any more...what goes around comes around
25. Do you judge people who dress poorly? I try not to, but I do notice if it's obvious. I don't care about name brands and stuff...but not matching drives me crazy and when clothes are super out dated. "The eighties are calling, they want their clothes back!"
26. Do you judge people who are homely? No, like I'm super hot...
27. Do you judge people who are overweight? Nope.
28. Your interest in politics: High, Medium-High, Medium, Medium-Low, Low, Obsolete?

30. Acoustic or electric? Acoustic...I'm a country girl...love that twang
31. If you were a hermit, would you shave? Yes, what else would I do with all that time?
32. If you could shave your head without your significant other throwing a complete hissy, would you? Never, my hair is for me, not for him
33. What was your least favorite age? I don't know? Those few years before 16, awkward lanky jr. high stuff kinda stinks
34. How many times a day do you check your email? Too much. 3 or 4?
35. Are you in a tiff with anyone right now? I'm not, but certainly someone may not like me
