Jack Chillaxin' -- 8 Weeks

Easter Party

Wowsers. I am so behind. We had an incredible Easter party the Saturday before Easter. It was at our church. The kids loved the pinata (what a fun twist) and the Easter egg hunt.

New York, New York!

In late March, Jake had a business trip scheduled to Manhatten. I was lucky enough to be able to join him with only one babe in tow. We have never been to New York, and I'm dying to go back...I am so grateful for a wonderful friend that made my awesome, albeit short trip possible.

Jack and I flew into La Guardia on late Wednesday night. I must have had "tourist" written all over my face...my cab from the airport to our hotel was twice what Jake had paid for the same ride. I think I literally got "taken for a ride". It was fun anway, to have my cabbie bring me right in through Central Park. We met Jake and went to dinner with Harley people. I was feeling all too mommy-ish; and felt a bit out of place, but I did what I do best, and just focused on my food...mmmmm. After that, Jake and I walked over to Times Square until poor Jack was too tired and fussy to play anymore.

The next morning, Jake had meetings; so Jack and I went to breakfast and then walked through Central Park (just a few blocks from our hotel). It was relaxing, amazing, picturesque...I kept getting the feeling that I was missing someone/something without my entire entourage following me. It was oh so nice. That afternoon, as our time was short, we opted to take a hop on/off tour bus (Jake was then able to come!). We did a loop and saw many of the major famous buildings (Empire State, Chrysler, etc). We stopped near the WTC site and toured the small museum that outlines the plans for the memorial site. While Jake had another meeting, I walked around Wall Street and again, got ripped off when I had to buy a new battery for my camera. We got on the bus again and went down to the Staten Island Ferry Station and looked from there at the Statue of Liberty. Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty are must-sees for me, next time I hope. We again got back on the bus, and rode around a bit more...saw the UN building...then hopped off near Rockefeller Center and walked back from there to have dinner in "Hell's Kitchen" (mmm...delicious pizza) then grabbed some Cold Stone and took our poor, screaming baby back to the hotel.

Friday was our last day, so we just went for a walk together in Central Park; then headed back to the airport so we could come home and save our sweet friend from our crazy kiddos. What a whirlwind, but SO MUCH FUN! This is the first trip Jake and I have taken alone (okay, well, we weren't technically alone, but a 7-week old is pretty easy). I would do it again in a heartbeat. Anyone wanna watch my kids? Kidding, I'm kidding!

6 Weeks - First Smiles

New Park

Sweet Jack -- 5 1/2 weeks

Green With Envy

Milwaukee can't be Chicago, but we try. St. Patricks Day is big around here. We can't get the entire river green like Chicago, but green beer flows freely and we have a half-decent St. Patricks Day Parade. Having never been to the parade in Chicago, I don't really have anything to compare it to. If it weren't for the freezing cold, it would have been more fun. The kids were impressed, mostly because crowds with kidlets were scarce and they made off like bandits with "free" candy.
